Marshmello Cancels Las Vegas Show Amidst News Of Deadly Shooting

In what is being called the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history, the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday night (October 1) saw chaos ensue when a gunman fired on thousands of country music fans from a perch above the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, killing at least 58 people and injuring 400 individuals.

Amidst the chaos, several entertainers took to social media to sound off on the tragedy, including Marshmello, who cancelled his set at XS Las Vegas just beforehand and urged his fans to stay off the Sin City strip.

"To all my friends in Vegas, there is an active shooter at the Mandalay Bay so please be careful! Tonight's show at @XSlasvegas is canceled," he wrote to his 613,000 followers on Twitter. "Please stay off the strip if you're in Vegas! Active shooter on the strip at Mandalay Bay and multiple shot at New York New York."

Later on, the DJ also joined in on the goal of authorities to help locate missing individuals by urging his followers to call 1-866-535-5654. XS Las Vegas took things a step further when the venue announced that the doors had closed entirely for the evening due to "unforeseen circumstances."
